BRIEF SUMMARY OF WORK AFTER GRADUATION: Immediately after graduation, I was one of those invited by the late Dr. Francisco Geslani to work at Bacolod Sanitarium and Hospital (now Bacolod Adventist Meical Center) and was assigned at the Delivery/Operating Department. I worked there for 9 years until my husband accepted a call to work in Africa in 1985 as auditor based in Lubumbashi, Zaire (now called Democratic Republic of Congo). That was our first missionary journey – never expecting that we would serve in the vast continent of Africa (based in Zaire, Cameroun and Ivory Coast) for a total of 23 years and 8 months! As a
tag-along-missionary housewife, I also did jobs I didn’t expect to do: home schooling our 3 kids, office secretarial jobs, hostess and housekeeping supervisor, among others. They were all a learning experiences for me!

CURRENT WORK: Health Ministries Director of Trans-Caucasus Union Mission (territory includes Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) and Cafeteria Supervisor.
WHAT I ENJOY MOST IN MY CURRENT ASSIGNMENT: For me I count it as a great privilege to serve the Lord as a missionary! I enjoy being able to share the love of God to others in my own small way and helping to energize church members to use the Adventist Health Message as tool in reaching out and ministering to others. I love learning new cultures, language, seeing new places, and enlarging my circle of friends and acquaintances!
HUSBAND: Not an MVC graduate but studied there in 1967-68.
FAMILY: My husband, Ceazar Hechanova, is currently the treasurer of Trans-Caucasus Union Mission. We have 3 adult children: Dexter, the eldest has a master’s degree in information technology, is married to Hiew-Ling Loo from Malaysia and both are alumni of Walla Walla University. They have an 8-month old son, Edison. Our second son, Marvin, finished his computer science degree from AUP and is currently pursuing a second degree. And Charmaine, a nurse, is married to Merck Samson (son of Dan and Flor Samson who are both MVC alumni). They have a one- year old son, Christian Aidan. Charmaine and Merck are graduates of Pacific Union College and Southwestern Adventist University, respectively. Our children all currently live in the U.S.
Before becoming a missionary in a foreign land, I was exposed to doing missionary work in the churches surrounding MVC. Thank you, MVC and my wonderful Christian mentors, as well as to my parents who brought me up in MVC, and above all to God!
